Congregational Life
Family Retreat
The first weekend of May is set aside at Greenville ARP for our Annual Family Retreat at Bonclarken Conference Center. We gather together for the weekend as a church family to focus on spiritual enrichment, fellowship, and recreation. In the words of one of our members, “The Bonclarken Church Family Retreat is a place where my boys can run around anywhere they want and feel secure; two days of great food that I don’t have to cook or carry-out from Papa John’s; a weekend when the Church family really gets to be a family; a time to relax and enjoy sessions of good Bible study; a chance to have nice, long conversations with new friends and old friends I never get to see enough; and, most of all, a time for me and my family to JUST BE STILL.”
Supper Club
“Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:1,2
The Purpose of Supper Club is to let everyone have an opportunity to meet others in the church family, enjoy a good meal in their homes, and have fun. Willing members open their homes and serve as hosts to a small group of other members for a small dinner party. The host provides the meat and beverage, and guests bring additional dishes.
New Member Banquet
We begin each new year with a celebration honoring the new families that have become a part of our church family during the previous year. A special dinner is planned in early January for the entire church body, and new member sponsors introduce these new families, sharing special facts about their new friends.
Plymouth Rock Breakfast
On Thanksgiving morning, the men of the church prepare a breakfast feast for the church family, as we come together to celebrate and give thanks.
